1. Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) ATF is a test accelerator focused on generating the super low-emittance beam, that is one of the essential technique to realize the next electron-positron linear collider (ILC). The purpose of ILC is particle search and precise determination of its property in high energy region beyond 250 GeV to understand the structure of the universe.
2. Superconducting rf Test Facility (STF) STF is a project at KEK to build and operate a test linac with high-gradient superconducting cavities, as a prototype of the main linac systems for ILC. The initial primary goal of this project is to establish a facility where domestic and regional development activities for superconducting RF (SRF) technologies are to be based.
3. cERL The Compact ERL (cERL), a demonstration unit of the Energy Recovery Linac (ERL), is being developed for the use of superconducting accelerators with industrial applications. We are conducting R&D in collaboration with various companies and domestic/international research institutes, including the domestic production of medical radioisotope Mo-99 and irradiation experiments to extend the life of asphalt.
